All-Optical Three-Dimensional Electron Momentum Imaging

چکیده
We report a new implementation of three-dimensional (3D) momentum imaging for electrons, employing two-dimensional (2D) detector and silicon photomultiplier tube (siPMT). To achieve the necessary time resolution 3D electron imaging, poly(p-phenylene)-dye-based fast scintillator (Exalite 404) was used in instead conventional phosphors. The system demonstrated an time-of-flight comparable with that electrical MCP pick-off (tens picoseconds), while achieving unprecedented dead reduction (?0.48 ns) when detecting two electrons.

A novel scheme for implementing spectral constraints into a three-dimensional (3-D) image reconstruction model is presented. متن کاملThree-dimensional imaging by optical sectioning in the aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscope.
The depth resolution for optical sectioning in the scanning transmission electron microscope is measured using the results of optical sectioning experiments of laterally extended objects. We show that the depth resolution depends on the numerical aperture of the objective lens as expected. We also find, however, that the depth resolution depends on the lateral extent of the object that is being...
متن کاملAll-optical routing and switching for three-dimensional photonic circuitry
The ability to efficiently transmit and rapidly process huge amounts of data has become almost indispensable to our daily lives. It turned out that all-optical networks provide a very promising platform to deal with this task. Within such networks opto-optical switches, where light is directed by light, are a crucial building block for an effective operation. In this article, we present an expe...
متن کاملImaging molecular geometry with electron momentum spectroscopy
Electron momentum spectroscopy is a unique tool for imaging orbital-specific electron density of molecule in momentum space. However, the molecular geometry information is usually veiled due to the single-centered character of momentum space wavefunction of molecular orbital (MO). Here we demonstrate the retrieval of interatomic distances from the multicenter interference effect revealed in the...
متن کاملThree-dimensional molecular imaging with photothermal optical coherence tomography.
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a three-dimensional optical imaging technique that has been successfully implemented in ophthalmology for imaging the human retina, and in studying animal models of disease. OCT can nondestructively visualize structural features in tissue at cellular-level resolution, and can exploit contrast agents to achieve molecular contrast. Photothermal OCT relies on ...
